WASHINGTON (February 10, 2022) – The U.S. Departments of Transportation and Energy today announced $5 billion that will be made available under the new National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program to build out a national electric vehicle charging network.
David Jankowsky, founder and CEO of Francis Energy, owner of the nation’s first statewide EV fast charging network, applauded today’s announcement in Washington.
“Today, the Biden Administration reaffirmed its commitment to transforming transportation by empowering state and local governments and the private sector.
The investment of federal dollars provides the certainty and reassurance the market needs to accelerate the buildout of a national charging network and positions the United States as the world leader in electrifying transportation. Francis Energy is eager to continue our work with states across the Midwest in building a public charging network that reaches into all communities in the heart of the country.”
Francis Energy has built the first in the nation comprehensive statewide network of fast chargers across the state of Oklahoma with stations virtually every 50 miles. The Oklahoma network ensures rural areas, tribal lands, and underserved communities have reliable access to charging stations. The company is following its successful model in Oklahoma to build a charging network across middle America.
